The application of Zirconia ceramic inserts for Tundish is steel-making tundish in steel works. The zirconia ceramic inserts are installed at the bottom of the tundish and are used after the Tundish is preheated.
Products Description
Zirconia ceramic nozzle insert is the core inner component of tundish metering nozzle, a critical refractory spare part for steel continuous casting. It is assembled inside alumina/alumina-carbon outer sleeve, installed at tundish bottom, to precisely throttle and stabilize molten steel flow from tundish into crystallizer and control casting speed steadily.
Made of high purity stabilized zirconia by high-pressure forming and high-temperature sintering, this insert directly contacts high-temperature molten steel. It resists severe scouring, corrosion and thermal cycling, keeps inner bore dimension stable during long sequence casting, avoids bore enlargement and flow fluctuation, reduces steel breakout risk and improves billet quality.

High corrosion & erosion resistance
Stabilized zirconia raw material hardly reacts with molten steel and slag, reducing bore enlargement. Longer casting sequences are available.
Good thermal shock resistance
Special formulation suppresses crack generation under rapid temperature change, lowering nozzle breakage risk.
Low adhesion property
Smooth dense inner surface reduces alumina inclusion deposition, effectively mitigating nozzle clogging issues.
