Products Description
The CTZR Series insert is made from magnesia-stabilized zirconia material. This product features high density and provides excellent erosion resistance, even under the most severe casting conditions. During operation, it ensures a stable and controllable casting speed, withstands significant thermal stress, and can be used for cold-start casting without any preheating.It is primarily used in the continuous casting of steel billets, compatible with continuous casting equipment of various sizes, and meets the production requirements of steel billets with different specifications.

Product Performance
Fire-resistant
Zirconia material has a very high melting point. Therefore, zirconia refractory nozzles can operate stably in high-temperature environments exceeding 1500 °C, withstanding intense molten steel erosion.
Corrosion-resistant
High-purity zirconia nozzles provide outstanding resistance to chemical corrosion from molten steel and slag, minimizing nozzle enlargement and damage, and allowing multiple heats of continuous casting.
Thermal shock-resistant
By adding stabilizing agents, the phase transformation of zirconia is effectively suppressed, enhancing the thermal shock resistance of the nozzle and preventing cracking under repeated temperature fluctuations.
How to do it
1. Control the initial flow rate of molten steel.
At the start of casting, the slide gate should be opened slowly to allow molten steel to flow steadily into the nozzle. This prevents high-speed steel flow from directly impacting and eroding the nozzle bore, which would accelerate wear.
2. Avoid interruption of molten steel flow.
Flow interruption can cause a sudden drop in the nozzle bore temperature. When steel flow resumes, the resulting temperature difference may lead to cracking of the nozzle.
3. Monitor the nozzle condition in real time.
Operators should observe whether there are any signs of bore enlargement, cracking, or steel leakage. If significant expansion of the bore or surface cracks are detected, the nozzle must be replaced immediately to prevent steel leakage accidents.
4. Do not splash cold water near the nozzle during operation.
Contact between cold water and a high-temperature nozzle can cause severe thermal shock, leading to nozzle breakage and disruption of the continuous casting process.
