Products Description
The tundish-to-mold flow rate determines billet quality. The part that actually meters that flow? A small ceramic insert inside the metering nozzle. If it wears fast, the flow drifts – and you get level fluctuation, slag entrainment, or cracks.
Zirconia metering nozzle inserts (steelmaking grade) are made from partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ), isostatically pressed and sintered to >98% density. They sit inside the metering nozzle or upper nozzle, directly contacting molten steel at 1550°C+.

- Expansion Rate: After 4 hours of continuous casting, the inner bore expansion is less than 0.5 mm.
- Service Life: When used with a quick-change mechanism, a single insert can maintain stable flow control for 6–8 hours.
