Zirconia Inserts for MNC Nozzle

Zirconia Inserts for MNC Nozzle are core inner refractory liners specially designed for Interstop MNC tundish metering nozzle changer system in steel continuous casting. MNC system allows online quick nozzle replacement without stopping casting strand. The zirconia insert is embedded inside alumina-carbon outer nozzle body, directly bearing high-speed molten steel scouring and slag corrosion. It stabilizes casting speed, controls bore enlargement and extends continuous casting sequence length.

We supply multiple zirconia grades including 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 90% and 95% stabilized zirconia inserts, matching different steel grades, sequence length and slag attack conditions. The inserts are widely adopted for billet, bloom and slab caster with MNC tundish flow control mechanism.

Step / chamfer customized insert: match special MNC nozzle cavity structure Custom inner diameter, outer diameter, total height, inlet and outlet chamfer available according to drawing or used sample.

These inserts are made to fit Interstop MNC metering nozzle changer assembly, compatible with stationary upper nozzle and exchangeable lower nozzle.

• Tundish MNC metering nozzle assembly, both stationary upper nozzle and exchangeable lower nozzle.
• Continuous casting for billet, bloom and slab.
• Steel grades: plain carbon steel, low alloy steel, medium alloy steel, stainless steel.
• Suitable for medium and long sequence casting, especially lines equipped with Interstop MNC online nozzle quick-change system.
• Can be supplied separately for refractory manufacturers to produce finished MNC composite nozzles.

1. Visual inspection before assembly: reject inserts with crack, chipping, edge damage or out-of-tolerance dimension.
2. Clean cavity of alumina-carbon MNC outer nozzle, use matched refractory mortar for bonding, ensure full contact without void.
3. Avoid heavy impact during embedding, hidden cracks will cause failure during casting.
4. Follow standard tundish preheating procedure, avoid sharp and rapid heat on zirconia bore.
5. Stop using when obvious bore enlargement, surface spalling or crack occurs.
6. Store in dry warehouse, protect from moisture, vibration and mechanical shock.
