Diversion, Continuous Pouring And Decompression Of The Tundish Nozzle
May 04, 2020
The tundish is a refractory container used in short-flow steelmaking. It first receives molten steel poured from the ladle, and then is distributed to each crystallizer through the tundish nozzle. As an important basic raw material, iron and steel plays an important role in the economic development of all countries in the world.
1. Diversion effect. For multi-stream continuous casting machines, the molten steel is diverted by a multi-nozzle tundish.
2. Continuous pouring. In multi-furnace continuous casting, the molten steel stored in the tundish plays a role of connection when changing the steel drum.
3. Decompression effect. The height of the liquid surface in the steel drum is 5~6m, the impact force is very large, and the range of change during the casting process is also very large. The liquid level of the tundish is lower than that of the steel drum, and the change range is much smaller, so it can be used to stabilize the molten steel casting process and reduce the erosion of the solidified shell of the mold by the steel flow.
4. Protection. Through the covering agent on the liquid surface of the tundish, the long nozzle and other protection devices, the contamination of the steel liquid in the tundish with the outside world is reduced.
5. Remove impurities. The tundish is the last refractory container that the molten steel passes before it solidifies, which has an important influence on the quality of the steel. The particles of non-metallic inclusions in the steel should be removed as much as possible when in the liquid state.
